Filipino rapper Abra is making his big return to music in 2025 after years of being away. He announced the comeback on social media, sharing a black-and-white photo with the word “Kontrol” and a caption teasing the release date: January 25, 2025.
He also included emojis hinting at a music video and a release on streaming platforms, tagging DJ Medmessiah from Morobeats as a collaborator.
This new song, “Kontrol,” will be Abra’s first release since his 2018 EP, Hendrix, which went viral.
Recently, Abra toured the U.S. in 2024 for the ARAL tour, performing in cities like San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York alongside rappers Ron Henley, Apekz, and Loonie.
Abra first gained fame as a battle rapper in the FlipTop Battle League before becoming widely known for his hit song “Gayuma,” which now has over 87 million views on YouTube.
