Filipino pop group BINI hit a milestone as their song “Cherry on Top” played at an NBA game halftime show on November 10.
The Los Angeles Clippers’ dance team, Clippers Spirit, energized the crowd with a performance to the song during a game against the Toronto Raptors at the Intuit Dome.
The event was part of the LA Clippers’ "Filipino Heritage Night," which highlights Filipino culture on a global sports stage. It’s also notable that five members of the dance team are Filipino-American.
Although BINI wasn’t there, the performance thrilled fans and spread quickly on social media, with many fans, known as “Blooms,” sharing the moment online.
Just days before, BINI made history as the first Filipino group to win “Best Asia Act” at the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) 2024.
